Replace faucet 02-06-11

About a week ago the sprayer broke in spray mode. So that the only way water would come out.
Have you ever tried to do dishes with the spray hoss?...
It was interesting to say the lest....
I washed the wall, floor, myself more then once....A new multi tasking...
So this is the old broken faucet.
3 trips to Lowes.... 3 different faucets.... This is the new faucet....
It was really easy,I don't know why men whine so much about things...
My new friend is now plumber putty.....
Really ladies ... this took about an hour from start to finish...
The kids was surprised when they got up...
While under the sink, I'm looking there is about 10-12 screws holding my sink.so I'm thinking new sink, cabinets, counter tops....Plus I already have the paper for the kitchen.I've picked out the paint.
I'm starting to understand why my to-do list never gets smaller....When I fix something,I see other things that need fixing..
I love doing this stuff..
Now my sister wants her's done. Her hubby told her 25 years ago
that her sink wasn't set up for a spryer.( lie, lie, lie) Her sink has the plug for the sprayer... I told her get the faucet she wants and I'll put it in for her...
I'm also going to re-do her bathroom...She needs a new floor, and reset her toilet, put in a electrical outlet. Her hubby says it can't be done. what she has is what she gets...I would think if you love someone then you would do things that help make things easier for them.. He just doesn't want to do it...He laughs when he makes things harder for her...I don't get it...
So when he goes to visit his mom in the cape. I plan the re-do her bathroom for her. My sister will have a new bathroom.
Why can't men just tell the truth?..... If they don't want to do it ,then just say that.... I guess it's more manly to make up stories or lie about it...
That's one reason I started doing things for myself...By doing so I have found that I love doing these things....
Never say* I can't*... It's I'll try..

Frig repair 10-11-10

Sundy night the ice was melting again. Oh Boy...
Monday morning I called the reapair guy again. Told him the same thing was happening. He could come Tuesday morning. Ok...
He checks it, now it's the brain to the frig had a short.
He ordered the part,( $149.00) could fix it( $225.00) Wednesday. Awesome...
Wednesday morning no repair guy....
Wednesday noon no reapair guy....
Wednesday afternoon no reapair guy...
I made phone calls...first I was nice. Each call not so nice...
He called Thursday morning with excuses,my voicebox was full.(not true, I don't keep messages)then the truth came out ... He didn't get the part on Wednesday...I told him a phone call would have been nice ,I waited for him all day ,I had other things to do....
The biggest black dot in the middle is the short in the brain.
Well finally got it fixed. I will not be calling this guy again.I'll get a book and do it myself first.....
We had fun studing the frig's brain.....

Freezer repair 10-04-10

Monday morning I start calling repair guys for help.

Did you know that your freezer has a heater?.... I didn't...
But this is what broke. The heater does the defrosting in the freezer.

So for $149.00 it was fixed....

Tracking 09-(23-25)-10

Replacing the tracking was on my fall to -do list.
Saddly I don't have any pic's. I was too focused on the project.
I had been planning this for a while.
so I got the supplies ahead of time. Saw I had 3 day in a row
with nothing planned. ( Fri.,Sat.,Sun.)And thought this would be a great time to get this done.
So Friday morning 6am,cup of tea in hand, walkman playing oldies,I put my plan into work.
Now the tracking I'm talking about is the wood on the ground
that holds the track for the skirting to the moible home. The orginal wood had rotted,so it let the skirting move and wash away. Which let the neighborhood cats under my home.(Which I didn't want)
I started on the back side. I thought it would be the easiest, with less stuff to move or work around.
So I start in a corner. This first side is 76 feet long.
I have wood that is 3inches by 12 feet long.
So what needs to been done is, the skirting has to come out. Then dig under the tracking to get the old rotten wood out,and the 10inch spikes the hold it to the ground.then dig down alittle so the new board would fit in. Then spike it to the ground. then put skirting back in.the trick to this is not to mix up the skirting pieces, they only fit in one spot.
Things go great and smooth. Now I need to take the back steps off. That went well. Then to the second corner, and side.Which is 14 feet long.
2 sides done, steps back on. And my list is getting longer as I see things that need attention.
Side 3, which is 76 feet long.Only got the first 12 foot board done. Had to stop for the first day was getting dark.
Then part 2 started....
Under the home I have alot of totes. I noticed that some things in the totes was starting to mold, and smell bad.
so part 2 is to fix the totes so they don't mold,or smell like dirt.
At night I brought in about 6 totes and went through them and washed everything.then put everything in pastic bags, with fabric sheets.
Sat. 6am, cup of tea in hand, walkman on,I start on side 3.
Everthing went smooth until I got to the deck....
I had to take the lattice work off the sides of the deck so I could get under it.I couldn't take the skirting off, because the deck was holding it .And I wasn't going to move the deck...
I had to crawl under the home for about 12 feet. But I needed to be on the out side to see what I was doing. So I called my brother. He came to help.
I'm so lucky.
so I crawled under the home,my brother was on the outside of the skirting but under the deck.It went very well.
Then the 4th side... the side with the oil tank, and gas tank.
Again had to crawl under the home.It was interesting but it went well.
With being under the home I had the fun pleasure of finding
3 snake skins,4 salamanders,tons of spiders, 4 dead mice.
Good times.I'm glad it's done.
Part 2 is all done too.
All the totes are cleaned or washed and organized..And back under the home. And listed in the* where is it book*...
2 big jobs done in one sweep... I love it.
Plus the back steps got fixed before it was put back on.( which was also on the to-do list)
